Gordana Vujec was holding many roles Data Scientist, Scrum Master, and Business Analyst. She enjoyed all of them but the thing she enjoys most so far is being an Executive and Career Coach. Recently, she became Tilt certified coach which is a personality and team assessment tool. Also, she is a certified Agile Coach which helps her a lot in her everyday work.
- Dr. Jenefer M. Jedele: “The Drivers of Health Imperative”
Dr. Jedele is a Health Economist with the Drivers of Health Strategy Team, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. At Blue Cross NC, she focuses on informing the design of programs and benefits through the application of rigorous implementation and evaluation methodologies in testing evidence-based interventions to address non-clinical factors impacting members’ health. Prior to joining Blue Cross NC, she was the Acting Deputy Director of the Serious Mental Illness Treatment Resource and Evaluation Center, Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Jedele earned her doctorate in health services research and economics as well as her master’s in survey methodology at the University of Michigan.
- Mindy Bohannon: “Grappling with Ethics and Bias When Using GenAI (yes Hal and M3gan, that Means You)”
With over 15 years of experience as a business analyst, scrum master, and database developer, Mindy brings rich technical and strategic expertise. She has spearheaded application modernization efforts and delivered keynote speeches on agile methodologies, business analysis, and professional advancement at many conferences. As president of the local IIBA DC chapter, Mindy actively promotes knowledge sharing in the BA community. She thrives on innovating solutions, fostering win-win relationships, and guiding individuals and organizations toward their highest potential for success.
- Megan R. Bell: “Communication Impacts Collaboration”
A multi-hyphenate of leadership, operational processes, corporate training, higher education, and creative agency work, Megan Bell’s passion for empowering others to reach their goals fuels her career journey. Today, Bell leads operations for Blue Cross NC’s Strategy and Diversified Business division blending communication, culture building, and process enhancement to reach business goals.
- Pamela JS Thomas: “Can You Quickly Explain Your Business Data Flow? Want Practice?”
Pamela Thomas is a Senior Business Data Analyst, who specializes in Data Analysis and Agile techniques as well as Business Process Management. Currently, she is collaborating with a DevOps Data Team and a coalition in the rail shipping industry to create a new freight railcar telematics technology platform.
Pamela holds the IIBA-CBDA and IIBA-CBAP certifications. She is an instructor for an IIBA Certification Study Group and is a member of the IIBA RTP Chapter in North Carolina. She started as Membership VP in the fall of 2020. She holds an MS degree in Professional Technical Communication from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University. She is a certified SAFe Agilist and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Professional.
Outside of work Pamela loves to walk amongst the trees, crochet, read either sci-fi or chick lit, and volunteer time towards inspiring the next technical generation through events and as a guest speaker.
- Rita Hewell: “Failure – because it’s FUN-damental”
Rita is a recovering perfectionist who battles allowing the fear of failure turn her world from technicolor brights to muted colors. Her perfectionism served her well as she started her career as a programmer/systems engineer and continues to serve her well (sometimes) in her roles in the data and analytics area at Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina. She is learning to embrace productive failure as a better (and more fun) approach to her work.
- Robert Snyder: “Connecting The Dots: What Can Business Ensembles Learn From Performing Arts Ensembles”
Robert Snyder is the founder and president of Innovation Elegance, LLC. Robert’s thirty-year career spans roles such as developer, project management, change management, sales enablement, and the performing arts. His career path includes corporate roles, consulting roles, startups, PMP, and Agile certifications. He’s performed in numerous vocal, dance, and theater ensembles. Robert earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and his MBA in Strategy from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
In early 2024, Robert expects to publish two books: “Innovation Elegance: Transcending Agile with Ruthlessness and Grace” and “Innovation Portfolio: Five Verbs Shape Your Team’s Legacy.”
- Susan Moore: “Idea Management: The Good, The Bad, and The Uncertain”
Susan is the Community Engagement Manager at IIBA. Before that, she was a business analysis professional with more than 20 years’ experience in finance, insurance and utilities industries working on both the Business and IT sides of organizations. Susan speaks frequently on business analysis-adjacent topics such as career development, essential skills, and virtual communication. - Tamara Copple: “Thrown in the deep end - finding your footing from mid-project”
Product owner by day, evangelist for women in STEM by night, Tamara Copple, MBA, CBAP is a product owner with Kansas City-headquartered non-profit Children International. She is a past president of the IIBA Kansas City Chapter, IIBA Americas Southeast Region Director, and a community leader for Kansas City Women in Technology, where she helped to build the Coding & Cocktails program for aspiring local women developers.
In what spare time is left, Tamara enjoys counted cross-stitch, spontaneous weekend trips with her husband Matt, rewatching Marvel movies and the occasional game of Dungeons and Dragons.
- Tom Tomasovic: “Empowering Business Analysts for Data Analytics: Using AI to Enhance Classic Tools for Exploratory Data Analysis”
Tom is passionate about elevating the business analysis profession. He built the business analysis practice for a major healthcare payer from the ground up, hiring and mentoring a team that included several IIBA-certified professionals and supporting team members in their certification efforts. Before moving to Ohio, Tom was an active member of the NYC IIBA chapter, informally advising a study group to help others achieve IIBA certifications.
Tom, a seasoned BA professional with 20+ years of experience, has led a successful BA team and driven impactful projects across diverse industries including healthcare, wind technology, and consumer products. As a trainer and mentor, he has guided numerous individuals to IIBA certifications.
Holding 5 of the 7 IIBA offerings alongside expertise in Scrum, Agile BA, and beyond, Tom is passionate about continuous learning and empowering others.
