Continual Career Improvement for Business Analysts

The role of the Business Analyst continues to evolve, driven by digital transformation, AI, organizational change, and increasing expectations from both business and technology leaders. In this environment, long-term career success is no longer defined by job titles or tenure alone. It requires intentional, continual career improvement.

In this session, Dr. Tracie Edwards invites Business Analysts to apply the analysis skills they use in their work to the management of their own careers. Rather than viewing career growth as a series of reactive moves, this presentation reframes it as an ongoing effort, one that benefits from regular assessment, deliberate investment, and thoughtful adaptation.

Drawing on leadership research, real-world consulting experience, and patterns observed across organizations undergoing transformation, this session explores how Business Analysts can remain relevant, resilient, and strategically positioned as their roles expand beyond traditional boundaries. Attendees will examine how changing business needs, emerging technologies, and evolving organizational structures are reshaping expectations for analysis professionals.

Participants will leave with practical insights and frameworks to:

  • Evaluate their current “career health” and identify early indicators of stagnation or misalignment

  • Align skills, experiences, and visibility with evolving business and technology demands

  • Shift from reactive career decisions to proactive, strategy-driven choices

  • Build resilience and adaptability in the face of uncertainty and continuous change

Designed for Business Analysts at all career stages, this session encourages attendees to think beyond certifications and role definitions and instead focus on sustained growth, clarity of direction, and long-term impact. By treating career development as a continual improvement effort, Business Analysts can take ownership of their professional journey and build careers that evolve with the organizations and industries they serve.

Networking will begin at 6:30 PM, the presentation will begin at 7:00 PM.
