Four Shades of Business Analysis

Business Analysis has different shades. Different BAs working in different industries / domains have different roles and responsibilities.
Our July meeting will bring a panel of four BAs from different industries and they will share their perspective as a BA in the industries they serve.

Our panel includes:

Priti Achrya : For the past 15 years Priti Acharya has worked in various capacities in multiple industry verticals. Her experience ranges from being a marketing executive to an entrepreneur to project management & business analyst in life sciences. Currently working at Deloitte & Touche LLP, she holds a Master’s degree in Project Management, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences and is a certified PMP & Scrum Master. A long time RTP-IIBA chapter member, she enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with the community.

Mark Boland  : Mark Boland is currently a business analyst with the State of North Carolina in the Department of Information Technology.  He is currently supporting the Contract Standards, Estimation and Construction business teams in the Department of Transportation.  Prior to working for state government, Mark has worked in private industry and has full application development lifecycle experience.  He has experience as an application developer, project manager, systems analysis, and business and functional requirements analysis.  Mark is also Agile Product Owner (CSPO) certified.

Andy Steude : Andy Steude is a business analyst for the North Carolina Judicial Branch. Having worked on a variety of software development projects as a project analyst, Andy’s role has morphed into that of an enterprise analyst as the Courts embark on a period of transformative change including significant business process reengineering and a fundamental overhaul of the Courts’ case management systems. Andy built his career as a business analyst on his prior experience as a software developer in the automotive, shipbuilding, and telecommunications industries. He earned an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering and a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech.

Pamela Thomas Pamela just started at Conduent in May 2019 as a Solution Consultant/Business Analyst.  Previously at Nokia she drove an Agile transformation and promoted DevOps methods within organizations to improve release productivity and system quality across international teams. She drove standardization and efficiency through CMMI and ISO 9000 projects. And is experienced in the use of Six Sigma Green Belt methods and tools.
Prior to activities in Quality and Improvement, Pamela held multiple roles in System and Solution Test, including
test automation and management. Industries she worked in include Aerospace/Defense and Telecommunications: Network Management, Optical and Cable Networks.
She holds an MS degree in Professional Technical Communication from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University and is a certified SAFe Agilist.
