Wednesday, March 27, 2019 -
5:30pm to 7:00pm

Speaker: Ravi Mulukutla, PhD

Topic: Google Analytics of IIBA.Raleigh.org from the Big Data

Abstract:  The presentation summarizes the Google Analytics of the IIBA Raleigh Chapter’s website taking six dimensions (Active users, Demographics, Acquisitions overview etc.) in to consideration. Some recommendations are also provided for improving the website for better marketing. Google Analytics is a web analytics service in the Google Marketing Platform offered by Google that tracks and reports the website traffic. The approach is to show high-level, dashboard type data for the casual user, and more in-depth data further into the report set. The analysis can identify poorly performing pages with techniques such as funnel visualization, where visitors came from referrers, how long they stayed on the website and their geographical position. It also provides more advanced features, including custom visitor segmentation. The presentation also provides an overview and some background of Big Data Analytics with case studies from unstructured and structured data. Big Data is referred to data sets whose size is beyond the capability of traditional relational databases to capture, manage, and process the data. Big data originates from devices, transactional applications, web, and social media. Big Data Analytics allows business analysts, researchers, and business users to make better strategic decisions. Businesses can analyze enterprise data to gain new insights for the business growth by using the advanced analytics tools and techniques such as text analytics, machine learning, and natural language processing.
