RTP IIBA Chapter in collaboration with Women in Tech (RDU/Triad) are presenting :- The Lost Art of Person-to-Person Networking

How do you expand your network and why is that important? Most jobs and opportunities are found through connections. If you don't know many people in tech, that needs to change ASAP! Devs, BAs, QAs, PMs all need to know each other so they can recommend and promote each other. Let's grow together...

According to Maggie Kimberl from her article on the Association for Talent Development[1] page, networking and building sustainable relationships is one of the best ways to get ahead in your career. I have a strong personal and professional network. I have helped friends get jobs. And many of the jobs I have gotten have come from employee referrals from my network. Networking is good for employers too. Employers find that employees joining a company as a result of employee referral stay longer. Employees who network and find mentors tend to be more invested in the company and stay longer too.

However, in this day of social media, how do we network in person? Please join the RTP Chapter of the International Institute of Business Analysts (RTP IIBA) and Women in Tech Allies for an evening of guided networking. Bring your business cards to practice person-to-person networking. You’ll have opportunities to hone your elevator pitch and practice active listening to build networking connections.
