No matter what type of project framework you utilize, successful delivery of a “needed” output will always be a risk. The reason – all project frameworks rely on a vision/business requirement(s)/project charter to kick off. That document, whatever your company calls it, is the call to action and the case for a need that drives the work output.
Who in your organization provides input and direction for that document? How much research, thought and technique goes into vetting out the concept? The VERY scary answer to this question is too often, “the boss says this is what we have to do".
