AI for Business Analysts: Automate the Easy So You Can Think

As AI takes on more of the routine work, where does a business analyst's real value live? This session is a practical mini-training on using AI to make you more productive and keep you irreplaceable.

We'll start with a quick look at why visual models matter and why they get deprioritized under time pressure, and how that gap creates misalignment and gaps in requirement quality. Then we'll dig into the real opportunity: AI removes the time barrier, but AI-generated requirements are only as useful as the models that make them digestible. You'll see AI generate visual models in action and get a tactical, practical picture of what's possible today, including hands-on practice through a group activity.

From there, we'll turn to the bigger career question underneath the tools: as AI handles more of the mechanical work, what's left for BAs to own? We'll talk through the problems that stay stubbornly human (resolving ambiguity, exercising stakeholder judgment, applying domain expertise, and asking the right questions) and reframe the BA's relevance not as competing with AI but as being the quality layer on top of its output.

We'll close with a preview of where agentic AI is headed and what that means for the BA role: the more autonomous AI becomes, the more critical human judgment and oversight are. Attendees will leave with practical techniques for using AI to finally produce the visual models they've been skipping, and a clearer sense of where their own expertise remains irreplaceable.
