Leveraging Strengths on Your Team

Most workplaces still focus heavily on fixing weaknesses in performance reviews, coaching conversations, and team development. But people and teams usually do their best work when they understand and intentionally use what they naturally do well.

In this practical session, career and leadership coach Diana Alt introduces the basics of strengths-based development and how individual talents show up in real project teams. We’ll explore how strengths influence communication, collaboration, decision-making, and how work actually gets done.

You don’t have to take the Clifton Strengths assessment (or any assessment) to get value from this session. The goal is to help you better understand how you work, how others work, and how teams can be more effective when those differences are recognized and leveraged.

You will learn:

  • The core idea behind strengths-based development
  • How individual strengths influence team dynamics and collaboration
  • Simple ways to leverage strengths when organizing work on a team
  • Opportunities to improve engagement and effectiveness using strengths awareness

If you want to understand how you work best, and how to build more effective teams without trying to turn everyone into the same kind of contributor, this session is for you.

Networking will begin at 6:30 PM, the presentation will begin at 7:00 PM.
