Sep Chapter Meeting - Wed 9/25/2019 @ 5:30pm

Wednesday, September 25, 2019 -
5:30pm to 7:00pm

Speaker: Maxine Phillips

Topic: Level Up! Make Every Connection Count!  Becoming LEVELLESS

Abstract:  Having an achievement mindset can help you make every connection count. Learn how to leverage your analytical mind and project management body of knowledge to take your career to the next level. Areas of project management, along with the Achievement Mindset Process TM, will be used to help you to be clear and precise about the type of career you want. It is essential that we know your strengths, and believe in yourself to execute your career strategy. We must understand that building relationships are critical when making every connection count and completing projects. Therefore, the first phase of the process, we cover the methodologies of Initiating and Planning (See, Know, Believe, and Plan). In this phase, we challenge you to envision what your career and aspirations would be based on your natural abilities, gifts, and talents when creating a career strategy. The second phase, we cover the methodologies of Executing, Monitoring, and Controlling (Do, Achieve, and Document). In this phase, we encourage you to move forward by paying attention to your values, understanding your self-worth, and removing naysayers from your circle to eliminate roadblocks and obstacles. The final phase, we discuss Closing (Live It). Closing teaches a technique that helps you answer questions that identify the next steps in moving forward, write a takeaway action, and identify an accountability partner to meet with for the next six months.

Bio:   Dynamic! Intentional!, and Driven by purpose! These are just a few words that describe Maxine Pearl Phillips, Founder and President of GAMMS Unlimited Life and Career Coaching. She is the author of Transformation Write + Share + Live journal and guidebook; creator of the Achievement Mindset Process™, and a seasoned platform speaker with a passion for helping others succeed. As the eighth of twelve children, Phillips grew up in a world surrounded by an ocean of influence. Her father was a coal miner, and the mines of West Virginia were familiar to her, but she could sense that there was more. While still in middle school, Maxine decided on a different life for her future. She started journaling and learned the value of writing her aspirations early and setting goals. She credits a visit to her sister's piano teacher's home as a turning point in her life. When she saw the teacher's gift of playing the piano and patience of teaching students, Maxine knew that a different life indeed was possible. When her young mind analyzed the experience, she saw that the teacher had done something that she had to do. The teacher was sharing her gifts to teach others so they could become better and Maxine became driven to change her life by helping others. Phillips understands and embraces the necessity of incorporating learning and teaching into one's life. She is an observant learner, nurturing teacher, and compassionate communicator. Because she helps others to tell their stories and share their aspirations, she can assist them in expressing and achieving those aspirations. As a result of her focus, Phillips became the first person in her family to receive a formal education in higher learning. She earned her BA from North Carolina Wesleyan. She also holds a certification as a Business Coach from North Carolina State University, certified in the SHL – Performance Occupation Personality & 360 Feedback and Highlands Ability Battery Consultant. She has over three decades of leadership and Human Resources experience, primarily in Training & Development and is known as the Job Search Strategist Expert. She was responsible for the requirements of Sony Ericsson Performance Management Systems that started in the Americas and released globally to over 20,000 employees.  Phillips is a life-long learner who volunteers her time to assist non-profit organizations. She consults business professionals and coach individuals into fulfilling their life's work.
